Not long ago we wrote about the “world’s smartest suitcase” (yet) that raised more than $2M. We are pleased to see that some people are working on putting an end to the hassle that traveling sometimes can be. BauBax’s founder Hiral Sanghavi decided to tackle the problem with a jacket loaded with 15 gadgets. Launching a Kickstarter campaign with a set goal of raising $20,000, the team ended up raising more than $9,000,000 for the travel jacket!
Any nomadic entrepreneur & wanderlust traveller knows very well the problem of getting dressed for a flight: it will be warm at one point, cold at another, one has to carry a lot in his or her pockets to avoid reaching for their bag at every airport check and it must be comfortable enough to sleep in and maybe look good enough to land a deal in the airport. Other companies such as ScotteVest have been working on clothes with a lot of gadgets/pockets for a while but no-one had put all of them together yet.
So is this a bird? A plane? A SuperJacket? A sweater? A suit? Kind of everything to be honest. The jacket comes as a sweatshirt, a windbreaker, a bomber, and a blazer. It is up to you to chose which style you prefer! The main features of the jacket being the built in are:
- Neck pillow
- Eye mask
- Earphone holders
- Drink pocket
- Phone pocket
- Zipper pocket with telescoping pen/stylus
- Microfiber cloth
- Passport pocket
- Sunglasses pocket
- Blanket pocket (mini-blanket sold separately)
- iPad pocket or any tablet
- Hand-warming pockets
- Portable charger pocket
If you have already had a chance to “beta” test the jacket, let us know in the comments! Otherwise let’s wait until November (when it ships) to see if all the buzz was worth it!
